Constant Drives In Six As Deerfield Defeats Cushing Academy
Levi Constant drove in six on three hits to lead Deerfield past Cushing Academy 15-2 on Wednesday. Constant drove in runs on a triple in the first and a double in the fourth.
Deerfield grabbed an early lead, scoring on a ground out by John Sawyers, an error, a walk by Shane Graves, a walk by Henry Renelus, and a triple by Levi Constant in the first inning.
Renelus earned the win. He tossed five innings, surrendering two runs, five hits, striking out five, and walking zero.
The Big Green had nine hits in the game. Constant and Matthew Gardner each collected multiple hits. Deerfield Acwas sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Gardner had the most chances in the field with six.
