The JV Girls Lacrosse team played some of their best lacrosse of the season against neighbor Williston Northampton on Wednesday, executing at attack, midfield, and defense for an 11-2 victory. On attack, the girls showed patience and good judgment, moving the ball expertly and placing shots wisely. At midfield, the Doors were tireless, executing great passes to move the ball down the field quickly and doubling relentlessly to regain possession. Deerfield consistently controlled the draw, giving us one of our most significant advantages. At defense, the team kept the pressure on the Wildcats, communicating effectively and forcing turnovers. In the net, Jillian O’Connor had another great day with five saves.
In the second half, every player had significant time on the field, and all contributed to the great result. Scorers included Brenna Hoar, Paige Gilbert, Emily Stonestreet, Virginia Murphy, Bella Geraci, Olivia Geraci, Emily Henderson, and Erin Howe, with assists by Brenna Hoar and Cornelia McKay. The coaches were impressed with both the enthusiasm and the graciousness of our girls, and feel very lucky to have such an awesome group. And another special shout out to Ms. Lodge who never fails to bring the perfect snack to refresh our energy at the end of a great effort!
