Deerfield Big Green varsity baseball suffered defeat at the hands of Worcester Academy by a 10-4 margin. Despite spotting the opponents a 6-0 lead in the top of the first inning, the Deerfield nine kept battling to stay in the game. With runs of our own in each of the first three innings, Deerfield closed the gap to 6-3. But several costly errors enabled Worcester to advance the score once again, even though Deerfield repeatedly responded. Freshman Eamon McNamara started at catcher. He had the first RBI of the day. The Big Green is now 2-1 in conference play, which continues Saturday with a doubleheader at Tabor Academy.
