Sharma Strong At The Plate As Deerfield Academy Defeats Northfield Mount Hermon
Sameer Sharma collected four hits in four at bats, as Deerfield defeated Northfield Mount Hermon 15-2 on Wednesday. Sharma doubled in the first, singled in the third, homered in the fourth, and singled in the fifth.
The Big Green grabbed an early lead by scoring on a double by Sameer Sharma and a double by John Sawyers in the first inning.
Deerfield scored four runs in the fifth inning – a fielder’s choice by Caio Oliveira, a single by Sharma, and a single by Matthew Gardner.
Henry Renelus earned the win. He tossed five innings, surrendering two runs, six hits, and striking out four.
Deerfield had 13 hits in the game. Sharma, Sawyers, and Levi Constant each collected multiple hits. Jack O’Neil led with three stolen bases, as they ran wild on the base paths with ten stolen bases.
