Deerfield Academy Big Green JV Defeats Phillips Exeter Academy, 6-4

Deerfield Big Green JV baseball beat Phillips Exeter Academy 6-4 on Saturday. Phillips Exeter Academy captured the lead in the first inning.

DA took the lead for good with six runs in the fourth inning. In the fourth there was an error, scoring one run, Matthew Gardner singled, driving in two runs, there was an error, scoring two runs, and Alex Smith singled off, driving in one run.

Levi Constant earned the win for Deerfield Academy Big Green JV. He pitched six innings, allowing two runs, five hits, and striking out eight. Sameer Sharma threw two-thirds of an inning, as two relievers helped the Big Green finish off the victory. John Sawyers recorded the last out to earn the save for DA.

Gardner went 2-for-2 at the plate as he led the team with two runs batted in.
