Hockey, Boys: Varsity loses to Kent

Event Details

Coming off of a successful weekend with a win over Williston and a tie with Exeter, the boys varsity hockey team traveled to Kent in search of a win to keep their playoff hopes alive. Despite a long bus ride, the boys showed no signs of tired legs early on, as DA found the game’s opening marker when Sean McAvoy ‘19 won a faceoff to himself before finding Chad Haggerty ‘17 alone in front of the net. Haggerty ‘17 made no mistake, pulling the puck back across the crease to beat a sprawling Kent goalie. The lead did not last long however, as Kent found the equalizer less than two minutes later on the power play. The second period, saw Kent dominate the run of play as they added three more goals to make the score 4-1 heading into the third. Kent would add one more in the final period and the game would end 5-1 in favor of the home side. Sam Vigneault ‘17 and Tyler McDermott ‘20 shared time in goal and both goalies made a number of great saves.
