Deerfield traveled to Watertown Connecticut for a Class-A tilt against a strong Taft team. Deerfield hit 5 three-pointers in the first half to make the contest close, but struggled to keep the tall, athletic Taft squad off of the boards, ultimately conceding 15 points to the Rhinos on second-chance, offensive rebounds. The Taft team stretched their lead in the second half, before Deerfield made a final run that fell short. Adi Esonwune proved to be the catalyst for Deerfield’s second half push, scoring 8 points down the stretch and accounting for several steals and deflections.
