Facing Eaglebrook for a second time this season, we knew, would be no easy task. We came out ready to play and were fortunate to get up on them early with a 8-0 run to start the game. We maintained strong play on both sides of the floor and were able to get into the halftime with a 20 – 7 lead. Unfortunately, we let the gas off the pedal at the beginning of the second half, and their defense forced us into some silly errors which led to easy baskets for them. Before we knew it, we were in a close game and we soon fell behind. But to our credit, as their energy and confidence grew, and ours faded a bit, we still kept our heads in the game and were able to stay close. The game was nip and tuck at the end and we were fortunate to come out with the win against a determined and feisty Eaglebrook group. Carter Hampson, ’20 returned to action with 12 points, Sim Bethel ’20 probably played his best all around game of the year and ended with 13 points, and Henry Renelus led the team with 14 points, including 3 rainmaker 3 pointers, and some very clutch free throws down the stretch. We only had a eight of our eleven able to dress today, so we’re hoping to have everyone healthy and ready to play after the long weekend break.
