Deerfield fell to Choate 28-7 in the final regular season game of the year. After a scoreless first quarter, Choate got in the endzone on a short run to make the score 7-0. With Deerfield driving looking to tie the game, WR Levi Constant fumbled the ball going around the right edge and a Choate defender scooped it up and returned it 72 yards for a touchdown. With the score 14-0 and Choate looking to add another score right before the half, SS Luke Terry intercepted a pass in the end zone with 3 seconds left to keep the score at 14-0. After a scoreless 3rd quarter, Choate added their third touchdown at the beginning of the 4th quarter on a 20 yard TD pass. Deerfield cut the lead to 21-7 in midway through the 4th quarter on a 1 yard TD run by RB Keegan Bradley. Deerfield was unable to put the ball in again and Choate added a final score at the end of the game on a 34 yard interception return for a touchdown.
Deerfield finished the regular season 6-2 and qualified for a bowl game against 6-2 Trinity Pawling. The game will be played on Saturday November 18th at 1pm at Trinity Pawling.
