The team traveled to Windsor, CT for a Saturday afternoon contest versus the defending NEPSAC Class A Champions. The Big Green were ready for the challenge and started the game strong putting the Pelicans on their heels and getting the first scoring opportunity of the game. Deerfield earned a high percentage of ball possession in the first half, but Loomis gained momentum late in the first half and eventually scored to put the Pelicans ahead 1-0 at the half. In the second, the Big Green continued to press and create scoring opportunities, but could not find the back of the net.
The team displayed great collective effort both on the defensive and offensive side of the ball and once again showed their resilience and drive by continuing to press for the equalizing goal up until the final seconds of play. At the final whistle, Loomis held the advantage 1-0.
The team will return home on Wednesday to host Worcester Academy at 4pm.
