Saturday saw the team’s first away match and another big victory (6-1) for the thirds squad. The team traveled to Loomis, where Parents’ Weekend was in full swing. Despite the unfamiliar turf and Loomis’ many fans, Deerfield pulled together a win. Four goals came from leading scorer Kikka Giudici ’20 in the first half, while Griffin Dewey ’20 was hot on her heels with two goals in the second half. In the net, Sydney Bluestein ’21 was her usual stalwart self, allowing Loomis only one point despite a volley of shots on goal, including a few point-blank attacks following breakaways. The group faces its most serious challenge of the season yet in the form of cross-town rivals Bement on Wednesday, and it will take the entire team’s skills and determination to extend its winning streak.
