Another long bus ride brought the JV boys to Berkshire on a warm and sunny Wednesday to take on the Berkshire JV. Bus legs prevailed for the first half as Deerfield proved that good individual effort does not equal good team soccer. Berkshire played a much better team concept and had much more of the play throughout. The DA boys were pretty successful at thwarting the Berkshire attacks at least and the half ended with no score. The second half saw a much improved team effort from DA with many good scoring chances, especially up the right flank and even a few right up the middle. Shooting quickness and accuracy were lacking and in the end the game was a scoreless draw. Our keeper did have a clean sheet with one Berkshire shot off a post but the defensive quality was evident in that he saw zero real shots in the game.
