On a day that felt more like summer than mid-October, Deerfield traveled to Loomis to take on the Pelicans. From the start, Deerfield pressured the home team and were connecting well with their passes. After several chances, Deerfield finally put one away on a corner, with Christina taking a hard shot on net after a pass from Meredith. After regrouping at the half, Deerfield came out strong in the second half and their efforts never waned. Although Loomis put more pressure on Deerfield’s defense, the girls were able to maintain their composure and Mimi put away another goal with 2 minutes left in the game off a pass from Juliet. The team was led incredibly well by captains Tierney and Meaghan, as they both played some of their best field hockey yet. Hannah and Tori both stood out on the forward line as well, and Ali and Christina were brick walls in the back. Next up: Deerfield returns home to take on Westminster on Wednesday. Go Big Green!
