Field Hockey: Varsity defeats Andover

Event Details

On a very rainy Sunday afternoon, Deerfield took on Andover at home. The Big Green were psyched for the game and came out strong. Cornelia put the first goal away three minutes into the game, and Mimi found the back of the net again six minutes later off a pass from Juliet. Deerfield connected well on their passes and played smart defensively, and they went into half-time up 2-0. Early in the second half, Tierney found the back of the net off a pass from Ali to put the Doors up 3-0. The play was back and forth for the remainder of the game, and Andover was able to put away a goal with a few minutes left on the clock. Deerfield was ultimately able to finish up strong though, earning an exciting 3-1 win over the Big Blue. It was a great team win that wouldn’t have happened without the tremendous enthusiasm and energy of Tori, Ellie, Em, Julia, Brigid, Sofia, and Lily. Next up: the girls prepare for their game against Greenwich next Sunday. Go Big Green!
