Varsity Hockey took on the New England Falcons tonight, and shook off our holiday rust with a 3-1 win. Though we did not quite have our usual jump, our connections and system play got better as the game went on. Meghan Halloran ’17 opened the scoring in the first period, driving wide and firing a high shot off the post and in. Halloran added another goal in the second period after Libby Wenners ’17 found her out in front of the net. Mary Edmonds ’19 rounded out the scoring on the power play in the third period (assist to Deirdre Mullowney ’19, who played a strong game), after extended pressure in the zone by Halloran, Edmonds, Jenna Greenbaum ’17, Ali Fujiyoshi ’19 and Livi Messina ’17. Brenna Hoar ’18 had two beautiful passes to Margaret Williams ’19 for near misses, and both Paige Gilbert ’20 and Mae Emerson ’19 came close as well. Liv Mikesell ’20 and Jordan Manning ’19 both played well in goal. Many thanks to the Pastors for the Gatorade for the locker room. Next up is NMH at home a week from today.
