Hockey, Boys: Varsity loses to Choate

Event Details

The Boys Varsity Hockey team lost to Choate for the second time this season. Despite the Barn being louder than it has been all year with several alumni in town to celebrate the Barn’s final hockey season, the Big Green struggled to generate scoring chances. The first period opened with Choate creating a number of grade A scoring opportunities, all of which were turned away by goalie Thomas Gale ‘19. That is, until the final 30 seconds of the period after Gale ‘19 turned away two point blank shots, a Choate player who was left wide open on the side of the net was able to bang one home for the visitors, sending DA into the locker room down 1-0. The second period opened with DA on the power play and after some great puck movement down low, Wiggle Kerbrat ‘17 found Harry Gahagan wide open in front of the net for the equalizer. That marker would be the only goal for the home side as Choate would build up a 4-1 lead before finding an empty net goal to end the game 5-1. Thank you to all of the alumni who came back to support the team! Deerfield will host Westminster on Wednesday at 2:30 PM.
