Boys Varsity Hockey Defeats Westminster
After a tough loss to Choate on Saturday, the boys varsity hockey team got back to their winning ways with a 4-1 win over Westminster at home. DA got on the board early in the first period when Sean McAvoy ‘19 finished off a great pass from classmate Michael Holland ‘19 on a 2v1. Westminster would tie the game up halfway into the second frame on a power play goal that was deflected past a screened Thomas Gale ‘19. The Big Green quickly retook the lead when Chris Camelio ‘18 buried a rebound. Harry Gahagan ‘17 would double the lead two minutes later, giving the home side a 3-1 edge heading into the third. Gale ‘19 had to make 15 saves in the third period to secure the win, ending the game with a total of 30. Camelio ‘18 would earn his second of the night on an empty net goal. The boys will travel to Hotchkiss on Saturday for a 3:00 PM puck drop.
