Deerfield celebrated the start of 2017 with a win over an athletic Pomfret squad in front of a lively home crowd. With one of the squad’s stalwarts, Billy Lahart, home with the flu, Deerfield rallied from one end of the bench to the other to put together the team’s most complete effort to date. Six players scored 5 points or more, with Jackson Mannix leading the way with 28 points, including an eye-popping seven three pointers. The team played stifling defensive in the second half, limiting Pomfret to 20 points.
