Opening the season with five new starters, Deerfield struggled to create offensive continuity, and that difficulty allowed both Brunswick and Choate to score numerous goals on counterattacks after turnovers. Frustration easily could have overwhelmed a team learning to work together, but the experienced players, particularly seniors Jeffrey Sun and Bobby Meyer, encouraged everyone to remain patient and positive.
With senior Gordon Johnson returning to the pool when the team welcomes Loomis on Wednesday, our offensive efficiency and defensive intensity should improve.
