Varsity field hockey put together a strong team effort to defeat Pomfret on a beautiful Wednesday afternoon. Deerfield took an early lead with a goal from Maggie Roche ‘19 and capitalized on that momentum to score four more first half goals. Those tallies came from Tierney Roche ’18, Christina Halloran ’20, Mimi Pastor ’19, and Meredith Heaney ’19. Tierney Roche also earned an assist. Pomfret re-organized defensively in the second half and held Deerfield to no goals. Caroline Goguen ’17 anchored Deerfield’s defense and played a great game. Next up: Hotchkiss at 3:30 pm on Saturday. Go Big Green!
