On Wednesday, the JV girls’ squash team hit the long road to Milton, looking to avenge last year’s 6-1 defeat. Virginia Murphy ’17 got things off to a great start with a clean 3-0 win at #1. The middle of the ladder proved to be the important battleground, as the #2-5 matches were all close. Carolina Conzelman ’18 had quite a battle at the #3 spot, having control of her match in the fourth game before eventually succumbing in five. Katie Parker ’19 and Cassie Deshong ’17 had similarly close matches at #2 and #5, respectively, both pulling out close victories. Lily Louis fought hard at #4, losing to a tough opponent in four games. Beyond #5, the Deerfield team showcased their depth, with Adeliza Grace ’18, Maya Hart ’18, Audrey McManemin ’17, Christina Li ’20, Olivia Jones ’18, Lilley Salmon ’18, Cameron Heard ’19, and Sophia Centola ’18 all sweeping their opponents. The team ended up with a 5-2 victory, bringing their record to 2-0.
