The JV girls’ squash team faced Loomis on Saturday, looking to continue their strong start to the season. Playing a bit short-handed because of the ACT exam, the team knew they needed to bring their best effort to pull out the victory. The toughest match of the day came at the #2 position, where Lily Louis ‘18, faced with a tough matchup, fell to her opponent in five close games. At all other positions, however, Deerfield proved too strong, as no other Deerfield girl dropped a game. Adeliza Grace ’18, Cassie Deshong ’17, and Audrey McManemin ’17 all quickly secured wins at the #3-5 positions, and Carolina Conzelman ’18 picked up her first win of the season at #1. Impressively, Christina Li ‘20, Lilley Salmon ‘18, and Cameron Heard ’19 all swept their opponents, despite playing higher up in the ladder. With another team victory under their belts, the team hopes to keep the momentum going against Groton on Wednesday.
