Deerfield hosted Double A power Kimball Union on Saturday, putting up stiff resistance in the first half before succumbing to KUA’s strong front court play and hot three-point shooting in the second half. While the final spread was 17 points, Deerfield trailed by only 6 at half behind the skillful point guard play of Kaleb Robinson who scored all of his 14 points in the first 16 minutes. For the second game in a row, Jackson Mannix led the way for the Big Green with sixteen points. Eight Deerfield players contributed to the scoring while Coleman Shea, Billy Lahart and Jackson Pitcher battled hard for rebounds against KUA’s much taller front line. Evan and Will Santos pushed the tempo in transition and worked hard on the defensive end. All thirteen Deerfield players saw time in the game and the team finished on a high note with Sam Powell’s three-point field goal on the final possession of the game.
