On Saturday, October 8th, the boys junior B soccer team hosted the Westminster School in a 3 pm match and earned a 7-0 win with another strong performance on both halves of the field. The team was buoyed by the strong showing and support of students and fans at the game. Deerfield continued its trend of scoring early, with John Chung ’20 finding the back of the net only 3 minutes into the game. The next 15 minutes were back and forth with neither team gaining an advantage, but Deerfield struck twice within two minutes to open up a 3-0 lead. Gabe Moos ’19 scored the first of his two goals in the 18th minute and Nic Labadan ’18 followed up two minutes later to extend the lead. Starting keeper Ethan Chen ’20 made a great save in the 26th minute to preserve the shutout going into half-time. Deerfield continued the scoring in the 2nd half, with Will Song ’20 curling in a beautiful goal off the post, and defender Topjor Tsultrim ’18, Gabe Moos ’19, and Noah Jung ’19 also contributing goals.
