Deerfield lost 1-3 on Wednesday against an aggressive Westminster team. It was a very back and forth first half and both teams went into halftime with no goals. After regrouping, Westminster came out strong and scored early in the second half. Deerfield responded well by continuing to put pressure on Westminster’s defense and Meredith Heaney ’19 was able to capitalize on a corner to tie it up 1-1. Although Deerfield didn’t let up, Westminster took advantage of a fast break to score with ten minutes left in the game. Westminster sealed the win by adding another tally with three minutes left in the half.
