In the first game back from Winter Vacation, Deerfield took on the New England Jr. Falcons at home on Wednesday day. Though our rust was evident, and we made plenty of mistakes in transition and in the defensive zone, the Big Green skated away with a 4-2 victory. We had worked hard this week on getting pucks to the net and working hard for rebounds, and these efforts paid off with a 35-12 shot advantage. Meghan Halloran ’16 had two goals (one assisted by Mae Emerson ’19 and the other by Mary Edmonds ’19), and Edmonds had two unassisted goals of her own, including a wonderful individual effort on the penalty kill. Emily Yue ’16 and Jordan Manning ’19 split time in goal. We have plenty of work to do before taking on NMH next Wednesday, but there continues to be flashes of outstanding potential in this young team.
