Tim Day ’55 at MCRD

Tim Day relates “I had the privilege of being the Reviewing Officer at the March 15th graduation ceremony at the Marine Corps Recruit Depot in San Diego. It was a great honor to be with 356 newly minted Marines, the DIs, BGen Dan Yoo, and the staff of MCRD. It was a truly impressive event – and brought back ancient memories of marching on distant parade grounds.” Also, at the invitation of the Commandant of the Marine Corps, General James F. Amos, Tim has been asked to be the Guest of Honor at the Sunset Parade on May 28th, 2013 in Washington DC at the Marine Corps War Memorial. “The Sunset Parade is a universal symbol of the professionalism, discipline and esprit de corps of the United State Marines. Since its inception, the Sunset Parade has become a unique, patriotic tradition of the Corps. It is with great honor that Tim has accepted the Commandant’s invitation and as such Tim will be recognized for his service.”
