Successful kidney transplant

Just a note to let folks know that my wife, Susan, underwent a successful kidney transplant on June 27. The living donor was a twenty-four year old young lady who worked with my daughter. Needless to say we have been blessed, and this young lady was a a Godsend in the truest sense of the word. I want to thank members of the Deerfield community and classmates who offered support and prayers during a difficult time. Sue is doing very well with a new kidney that has exceeded expectations. Sadly she took a tumble six weeks after her surgery and fractured her femur, but it could have been much worse and with some physical therapy is almost back to normal. Organ donation can be a miracle for many people and I would encourage everyone to consider it if the opportunity should ever present itself. Thanks again and we hope to see many of you back in the Valley again soon.
