As I head for a ninetith birthday and have retired from active business work there is more time to reflect on one’s life. After graduation from Deerfield I enlisted in the US Army and was assigned to duty in Alaska for the duration of my assignment. Deerfield education resulted in an offer to further my military career as an officer, but I opted to attend an engineering college. Did this at RPI. Upon graduation joined NY Telephone,
had assignments at Bell Labs & ATT & other East coast telephone companies following the Bell System breakup with ever increasing responsibilities. Retired after 36 years and went to work for NEC America reporting to the President. Multiple trips to Japan for my education and around the US to introduce NEC to telephone executives. Had the preasure of announcing on national TV the winner of the NEC World Series of Golf held at the Firestone Country Club. Following this had a short time as President & CEO of Numerex in Georgia. As I look back on these experiences I believe Deerfield contributed greatly to my accomplishments.
