On the Blue Ridge Parkway

Doug Abercrombie ’62 and I took our 10th annual “Yea Bo” motorcycle journey this past August. This year we rode from Doug’s house on the Gulf Coast in Lillian, AL to my house in Oldwick, NJ. The trip took us 1700 miles, and the highlight was riding the entire 469 miles of the Blue Ridge Highway from Cherokee, NC to Waynesboro, VA. It is truly one of the most beautiful roads in America.

With the completion of this ride, we have now traveled over 25,000 miles through 33 states and 3 Canadian provinces, and we look forward to adding to those numbers in the future.

Dave Phillips ’62 came up with the saying “Yea Bo” and we have named each of our 10 rides Yea Bo 1-10. If Dave or any of our other classmates knows what “Yea Bo” means please let me know at tedzeller@comcast.net. Also, let’s hear from more of you so our ’62 section in the magazine doesn’t look so anemic!
