As I speak with folks in the community about the Joint School of Nanoscience and Nanoengineering [JSNN], one of their first questions is, “What is Nano?” Attached to this note is a copy of the script for my recent TEDx Greensboro talk, entitled ‘Nanoinspired by Nature’. My goal for this talk is to answer this question by demystifying the nanoworld through a series of stories. Along the way, you’ll find some amazing processes and properties that emerge at the nanoscale, and learn about high value nanomaterials that are revolutionizing how we manufacture new and useful products that are benefiting society.
