Martin and Barbara Kruming visited Mongolia in July because their small San Diego neighborhood of Switzer Highland enjoys a cultural, educational and business partnership with the Bayanzurkh District of 300,00 people in Ulaanbaatar, the capital. They attended the Naadam Festival and their luggage arrived by camel at their Gobi Desert ger. Their neighborhood has additional partnerships with Azerbaijan and Latvia; will soon be in Botswana and is exploring partnerships in Poland, Canada, Chile, Morocco, UAE, Australia and Uzbekistan.
Photo captions: 1. Colorful New York Yankees caps were the most popular in Mongolia while 2. Boston caps were rare. 3. Camels delivered luggage to the gers. 4. Colorful outfits were part of the Naadam Festival.
