Michael Scherotter ’88 Launches Galeryst.com to Help Artists Share Artwork in Virtual Galleries

Initially started as a way to share my own artwork from 30 years of journaling (starting at Deerfield), I launched Galeryst.com in December 2021 to enable any artists to create a beautiful gallery to share their artwork with the world. Galeryst generates 3D virtual galleries from Adobe Photoshop Lightroom albums, enabling artists to easily create interactive 3D experiences viewable on phones, tablets, computers, and VR headsets. Kick-stared with a grant from Adobe’s Fund for Design, I built Galeryst with a small group of volunteers during a sabbatical from my work at Microsoft as program manager. I launched it as a subscription service aimed at artists and anyone who wants to share their artwork or art collection in the metaverse. Since launching, I’ve had artists from across the globe create and share galleries of their artwork to their global audiences when many real-world gallery exhibits were limited by the global pandemic.
