Father and Son win division in Newport to Bermuda ocean race

In mid-June of 2012 Steve Frank ’65 and son Simon ’91 competed in the biennial Newport to Bermuda Race aboard the family’s 69′ sloop GRACIE. This year’s weather conditions presented the fleet with the fastest racing conditions in the history of the 106 year old ocean racing classic. The 18 person crew completed the race in 63 hours and 59 minutes, which was fast enough to win their division. Steve has competed in over twenty Bermuda races and this is their fifth race together as father and son. Pictured are Simon and future sailor and hopeful Deerfield alum Annabel along with the Governor of Bermuda and small piece of silverware!
