Recently, the American Association of Immunologists created a 100 year timeline of major medical discoveries. I was honored to be included for my discovery of 2 new types of “white” cells that I named M1 and M2 macrophages. The timeline can be seen by googling AAI Timeline, and is fun to read because world events are interspersed to give temporal context to the discoveries.
