Bob Segal joins University of Arizona Medical School Faculty

Bob Segal ’67 has joined the Dermatology faculty at the University of Arizona in Tucson.
After graduating from Deerfield, Bob earned a BA from Cornell University, an MD from SUNY Upstate
Medical School in Syracuse, and served as resident and chief resident in Dermatology at
Stanford. He was on the clinical faculty at Stanford and St. Louis University before joining the
faculty at the University of Arizona. Dr. Segal’s current research interests relate to the medical uses of
‘cosmetic’ lasers to deliver medications deeper into the skin, and the combination of photoactive chemicals
plus targeted energy to create a local tissue effect. Dr. Segal’s interest in medicine began at Deerfield, when he
accompanied Deerfield’s physician on his hospital rounds in Greenfield. Dr. Segal is married to Anne Fisher Segal, JD, PhD,
and they have three adult children.
