A baby, a bride and a buggy ride

Jane and I spent January exploring Vietnam, Laos and Myanmar before moving on to Kuala Lumpur to watch our younger son Eli’s new bride, Liz, perform the tea ceremony for her family. (Phase I of the wedding occurred on a black sand beach in Iceland in August.) The picture shows us on a buggy ride through the astonishing archaeological zone in Bagan, Myanmar, with its 2,000 stupas and pagodas, some of which date to the 11th century. We returned to New Orleans in early February to wait for the birth of Ana and Jedidiah’s baby boy, due in early March, in San Francisco. All in all, a busy year for us since the reunion.
