As I head to my 84th birthday, I am grateful for the years I have had and for the Deerfield experience, even though it was for only one year. I was saddened to learn of the death of Frederick “Tex” Ashe this past year. He and I had a great time together as members of the track team in 1946. I am blessed with a great marriage and three children who are self-sufficient. My best wishes to all the surviving members of the class of 1946 and to the leadership of the school.
