All Classrooms (except B59, B60, B61)

  • Plug HDMI cable with video adapter on cart/bookcase into MacBook
  • On Epson remote, press On to power on projector
  • Press LAPTOP button on Extron switcher sitting on top of BluRay player
  • Volume is controlled through the Vol Up/Down buttons on Epson remote and through app on computer
  • When done:
    • Unplug cable from MacBook
    • Press Standby on Epson remote.  A beep will sound when the projector shuts down.

 
Important Note – When using HDMI for first time, follow these instructions to update MacBook audio settings:

  • While connected to projector, click on Apple menu and select System Preferences
  • Select Sound
  • Select Output tab
  • From displayed list, select Epson Projector Audio (Type will read HDMI)
  • Close Sound window
  • MacBook will remember this setting

Wireless projection available through the Apple TV in the classroom.
If projecting an iPad, please go to Apple TV.
If projecting a MacBook,  it must be running macOS 10.12.x (Sierra) or higher.

  • The MacBook must be connected GreenDoor
  • On Epson remote, press On to power on projector
  • Press APPLETV button on Extron switcher sitting on top of BluRay player
  • When Apple TV screen appears, move to next steps
  • Click on AirPlay icon in menu bar at top of screen (looks like a rectangle with a solid black triangle sticking into the bottom).
  • Select Apple TV being used (all Apple TV’s are named by room)
  • Desktop image should now be projected
  • Volume is controlled through the Vol Up/Down buttons on Epson remote and through app on computer
  • When done, be sure to disconnect from Apple TV so next user can connect
    • Select the AirPlay icon
    • Select Turn Mirroring Off
    • Press Standby on Epson remote.  A beep will sound when the projector shuts down.

Before connecting to an Apple TV, the iPad must be connected to the GreenDoor wireless network.
To ensure the best signal quality in the classroom, it is recommended to turn off wifi on the iPad and then turn it back on.

  • Press On on the Epson remote to turn on projector
  • Press Apple TV on Extron switcher on top of the BluRay player.  When Apple TV screen appears, move on to next steps.
  • Activate AirPlay on iPad **
    • Slide a finger up from bottom of screen
    • Select AirPlay/Screen Mirroring icon (looks like a rectangle with a solid black triangle sticking into the bottom)
  • Scroll through list to select classroom (all Apple TVs are named by room)
  • Enter projected code on iPad to complete AirPlay connection
  • iPad image should now be projected.
    • If image does not appear, go back to AirPlay icon and turn Mirroring On.  In some cases, mirroring does not take the first time.
  • Volume is controlled via Volume Up/Down buttons on the Epson remote, the volume toggle on iPad, and in app.

When done, be sure to disconnect iPad from Apple TV so next person can connect.

  • Go back to AirPlay on iPad
  • Select iPad to disconnect from Apple TV
  • Press Off on the button panel

** NOTE: To ensure reliable connectivity, you must be running iOS 10.x or later on your iPad.  Please contact the ITS Help Desk if you need assistance upgrading to the latest version of iOS.

  • Turn on BluRay player via remote or press power button on front of player
  • Turn on projector via On button on Epson remote.
  • Press BLURAY button on Extron switcher sitting on top of BluRay player.
  • Insert disc. Use the BluRay player remote control for viewing options (Play, FF, Rewind). Use Volume Up/Down buttons on Epson remote to control volume.
  • When you are done:
    • Eject disc from BluRay player
    • Turn off BluRay player via remote control or power button on front of player
    • Turn off Projector via Standby button on Epson remote

Arms B59, B60, B61

  • Press HDMI on button panel
  • Connect HDMI cable with video adapter on counter top to MacBook.
  • Use Volume Up/Down buttons on button panel to raise or lower speaker volume. Volume may also be adjusted via application being used.
  • When done:
    • Unplug HDMI cable from MacBook.
    • Press and hold Off on button panel. After about 3 seconds, projector will power down.

    • Select the AirPlay icon
    • Select Turn Mirroring Off
    • Press Off on projector remote
