The Innovation Lab

The Innovation Lab is a place for art and design, engineering, fabrication, and education. It transforms the individual workshop into a communal space that encourages the sharing of ideas, information, and skills. It houses a wide range of tools, equipment, and materials, for both independent and collaborative projects.

The Innovation Lab fosters learning through experimentation. It creates a space for students to make mistakes and learn from them. It’s an environment for building and testing solutions, and then rebuilding. It’s a workshop designed to facilitate and make visible the problem solving process.

At the same time, it also encourages learning through instruction. Students have the opportunity to learn skills from faculty and other students.

The Innovation Lab aims to broaden student experience. The Lab provides an environment for hands-on work.  It offers resources for teachers to explore new pedagogical approaches and an environment for students to explore interests and new ideas.
