Arafat ’27 shares about the groups visit to Georgetown University and the inspiring work of the Free Speech Project.
After our visit to Meta, we headed to Georgetown University, where we were greeted by a passionate team dedicated to exploring and promoting free speech on campuses and in the US as a whole. They gave us an overview of the project’s history, its goals, and the various initiatives they have undertaken to advance open dialogue and protect free expression. Overall, our visit to Georgetown University and the Free Speech Project was both educational and inspiring. It reminded us of the crucial role that free speech plays in a democratic society and the ongoing efforts needed to protect and promote it. We left with a deeper appreciation for the work being done at Georgetown and went for a walk around the campus before we left. — Arafat ’27
