Lucas ’28 practices Spanish, discusses the tradition of bullfighting, enjoys the waves, and samples Tapas!
Starting at ten o’clock, we went to school as usual where we are split into an advanced class and a regular class. In both classes we worked on our question asking skills through fun guessing games. We also talked about the tradition/controversy of bull fighting in Spain. The enthusiasm of the teachers really makes it easy to engage with the material. On top of building upon knowledge of Spanish, we were also able to practice what was taught through conversations with the Spanish children that go to the school.
Later in the day, after school, we had a group bonding event at the beach with Profe Karbon. The group played various games with the supplied soccer and volleyball. We also spent a lot of time in the ocean playing in the waves and body-surfing! It was awesome! The water was perfect. After all this high octane fun, the group headed toward a local tapas restaurant, where we were served many tapas – small plates traditional to Cadiz. We talked, ate good food, and enjoyed each other’s company while sharing our appetizer-like meals. It was a very fun and relaxing day as we enjoyed our organized free time as a whole group!
