Liesel ’28 recounts their day exploring Arcos de la Frontera and enjoying the beach.
Hola! I woke up this morning at 8:00 AM and got ready for the beach. Remi and I ate breakfast quickly and then walked over to Stradivarius to meet everyone at 9:00 to take the bus to Arcos de la Frontera! We brought the picnic lunches that our host family bought us (Caesar salads!!!) and got situated for the 50-minute bus ride. Once we got to the town, we got off the bus and found a little “train” – like it was waiting just for us! Of course we hopped right on! It was a wonderful coincidence to happen upon the train, since we would have had to walk uphill for about 20 minutes to reach the town on foot! Once we got to the top via narrow and winding roads, we saw a beautiful church where the huge bells were tolling, and we visited a museum and observed some of the artifacts from the Ayuntamiento.
We walked down, down, down to our bus, and proceeded to the lake where we raced the 2 peddle-boats and oversized paddleboard, we all took turns in the three boats. After getting out, we walked to a nice spot in the sand, and enjoyed our picnic. We swam, played beach paddleball, and relaxed in the sand. When Remi and I got home, we showered and watched some episodes of our show before dinner. We then ate a yummy dinner of eggs, tomatoes, and a salad, and then we watched some tv before bed. It was a fun and full day!
