Emmett ’27 becomes a tourist and discovers the city of Paris.
The first thing I noticed when we got to Paris is that we are now actual tourists. In Arles, we were students visiting and living with host families; here, we are not.
Yesterday, we arrived in the city around noon. From there, we went to the Louvre and the Catacombs, both of which were amazing. Afterward, we had an incredible dinner. I had escargots and braised beef.
Paris is definitely different from Arles in many ways. The most noticeable difference for me is that it is much more of a real city. Paris has a unique culture of its own, but it is also an international city, not too different from New York in a lot of ways. I look forward to continuing our exploration of the city in the coming days.
