Liv ’28 and Madison ’28 share the group’s sense of a job well done on their last day in the Dominican Republic.
We started off our day with sleeping in and a nice four hour car ride. During the car ride we took a pit-stop at the ocean and we got to walk around the beach for a few minutes before heading out to a big supermarket for lunch with Jose.
Soon enough, we arrived in Santo Domingo and played a game that Ms. Koyama had started in a previous trip: Secret Santo Domingo. Our task for that day was to get a gift for a randomly assigned person from the streets of Santo Domingo for under 10 American dollars. After exchanging dollars for some pesos, we had some free time and split off in small groups to look at shops, restaurants, and nearby monuments.
Later in the evening, we had a super nice dinner where we did our gift exchange and talked about our main takeaways from the trip. After dinner we took a short walking tour of the city with Jose and went the hotel for our last night. We got our phones back and all went to bed with a happy face, knowing that we had done an amazing job the past week.
Signing off Liv and Madison! Adios!
