Dominican Republic #1: Boston to San Juan de la Maguana

Will ’27 and Stella ’29 enjoy discovering the Dominican countryside and food and arrive in San Juan de la Maguana. “It was extremely nice to meet them and we are all excited for the week ahead of us.”

We woke up for a 7 o’clock leave. We scavenged the airport for some morning grub and future grub. Then blast off. On the plane, we did some watch parties sharing movies together and living it up in our snack eras. Four hours later the toes were in Santo Domingo. We quickly became best friends with Jose, the leader of Cambiando Vidas and a key part of our new family.  As we embarked on our phone free journey, we traveled through the heart of downtown and the valleys of the country side. We waved out the windows to locals who beamed smiles and waves in return. While the bus ride began with tones of chatter, it soon became nap time as everyone caught up on some much needed sleep. We arrived at the hotel, and had dinner with the family. We shared traditional Dominican food and laughter with Domingo and his family. It was extremely nice to meet them and we are all excited for the week ahead of us.

Roll Doors!!!
Hasta mañana!!!
