William left the Experimentory with new friends, new confidence, and a better understanding of himself.

Our 2020 Program has been cancelled due to global health concerns.

However, this only means we are already starting to plan our 2021 program that much sooner! We’ll be setting dates for our 4 Week Program Session and our two 2 Week Program Sessions this coming fall. Visit the page linked below to join our mailing list and receive notification as soon as those dates become available.

Boarding Tuition covers courses, room and board, linens, laundry, books, course equipment, on-campus activities, off-campus excursions, and Internet access. It does not cover health insurance if needed. It also does not cover students’ personal spending. Students will deposit spending money in advance. During the program, they can withdraw that money to purchase snacks and souvenirs, both on campus and during off-campus excursions. Remaining spending money will be reimbursed at the end of the program.

Financial Aid
The Experimentory offers a limited amount of financial assistance for domestic students. Financial aid is based on need and is applied for along with the program application. We are not able to provide financial aid to cover the cost of the entire program.

All students applying for financial aid must apply for both the program and financial aid by February 1 to be considered.  Financial aid applicants will be notified of their admissions decision and financial aid decision together via email later that month.

Applicants
We are looking for applicants that are curious, creative, and ready to take intellectual chances. However, our students also have the following demographics:

  • The Experimentory students must be current 6th, 7th, and 8th graders, therefore entering 7th, 8th, or 9th grade the fall after the program.
  • We excitedly welcome students of all kinds from across the country and world. We have had students from fifteen states and eleven countries.

Our Location
The Experimentory is the creation of Deerfield Academy and is located on the Deerfield Academy campus. Situated in the heart of an historic village along the Deerfield River, the campus is a beautiful summer setting with excellent music, technology, classroom, and sports facilities at our disposal. If you are ever in the area, please stop by for a visit.
