2017 Program Dates: July 9, 2017 – August 5, 2017
Students arrive on Sunday, July 9 and depart on Saturday, August 5. Friday, August 4 will be our Showcase Day when family and friends are invited to see what students have accomplished during the Experimentory.
For students living in the United States or Canada: $65
For students living outside the United States or Canada: $125
Tuition covers courses, room and board, linens, laundry service, books, course equipment, on-campus activities, off-campus excursions, and Internet access. It does not cover health insurance if needed. It also does not cover students’ personal spending. Students will deposit spending money in advance. During the program, they can withdraw that money to purchase snacks and souvenirs, both on campus and during off-campus excursions. Remaining spending money will be reimbursed at the end of the program.
The Experimentory offers a limited amount of financial assistance for domestic students. Financial aid is based on need and is applied for along with the program application. We are not able to provide financial aid to cover the cost of the entire program.
All students applying for financial aid must apply for both the program and financial aid by March 10, 2017 to be considered. Financial aid applicants will be notified of their admissions decision and financial aid decision together via email by March 24, 2017.
We are looking for applicants that are curious, creative, and ready to take intellectual chances. However, our students also have the following demographics:
- The Experimentory students must be rising 7th and 8th graders during the summer of 2017.
- We excitedly welcome students of all kinds from across the country and world. We have had students from thirteen states and eight countries.
- The Experimentory is currently a boarding program–we unfortunately cannot accommodate day students.
The Experimentory is the creation of Deerfield Academy and is located on the Deerfield Academy campus. Situated in the heart of an historic village along the Deerfield River, the campus is a beautiful summer setting with excellent music, technology, classroom, and sports facilities at our disposal. If you are ever in the area, please stop by for a visit.
