Each year, during the first month of school, we hold a flag procession to celebrate our national identities; one of several moments throughout the year when students are invited to share their stories, identities, and experiences. This year’s flag ceremony will take place at the start of sit-down dinner on Sunday, September 20.
You might identify with a country, or multiple countries, for reasons like these:
– You hold a passport from that country
– You live there
– The culture of that country shapes your household’s culture, often because one or both parents/guardians are from there
Please note that each participant carries one flag, representing one country. When multiple students apply to carry the flag of the same country, we’ll select based on seniority, prior participation in the ceremony, and other factors.
