Letterlink is a great opportunity to experience a culture outside the bubble, whilst making a big impact on someone’s life. This is important because in Ethiopia, middle school is in the native language (Amharic) and high school is taught in English, so many students drop out of high school because of the drastic language barrier. This club would be a very minimal commitment, only requiring one letter every two weeks. The letter would detail your life and is very casual. The point is to provide sustainable reading and writing practice material. We would have a very short meeting every two weeks where you hand-off your letters to be scanned and sent over electronically, and receive the letters sent to you.
