ITS has implemented File Encryption on all Deerfield-owned Mac computers. The software, called FileVault, will help to secure your data on your computer. It’s a required install that has pushed out to all Deerfield MacBooks. ITS has enabled FileVault on all New Student MacBooks.
The next time you turn your computer on, you will receive a prompt in the bottom right corner of your screen asking if the installation can begin or you wish to delay for up to 3 days. You must allow the installation within three days. The installation process can take up to 15 minutes. After the installation, a restart of your computer is required.
